Olocip was awarded by Quo Magazine and CSIC during the Science and Innovation event that took place last December 11th at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas in Madrid.
The RCD Espanyol football player and Olocip CEO, Esteban Granero, collected the prize for the ‘Promotion of Research and Science’, on behalf of the company.
This award is due to the founding of Olocip, a pioneering company in the research and application of artificial intelligence in professional sport.
Also present at the event were a large part of his team, which highlights the presence of professors and technology partners Concha Bielza and Pedro Larrañaga. Esteban was very grateful for the recognition of Quo Magazine and CSIC: “We footballers gain a large amount of attention. The recognition for scientists is important, and knowledge too.
In the end in the media we are always the same people, and sometimes we are examples for society, especially for the young people. We are an example and a bad example. We are not going to change the world today, but as a footballer I also want to thank the knowledge and scientific diffusion through media like Quo because what they do is very important”
Olocip would like to thank those present for their kindness and respect towards our company. In particular, Rosa Menéndez (president of CSIC), Jorge Alcalde (director of QUO) and Ángeles Heras Caballero (Secretary of State for Universities, Research, Development and Innovation).
Finally, Esteban added: “The future we saw long ago has run us over, but in your hands, the hands of science, we are assured”
At Olocip we maintain our firm commitment to scientific research and innovation as well as to the rigour of our developments, something that we understand is vital for establishing technologies and solutions in the market.
