Manchester United have been looking for a striker for a long time. In fact, their coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, was asking for reinforcements in that position in the winter transfer market. Ighalo finally arrived on loan, but it seems that the Red Devils will be looking for a forward in the next transfer window.

In Olocip, we have selected some strikers from the international scene that the English team has in its agenda and through the artificial intelligence we can make a prediction of the performance of each of these players if they sign with United for next season. This comparison is scientifically validated and places each player in his possible new club (ManU), with new teammates, coach, possibly league, etc.

The chosen players have been: Moussa Dembélé (Lyon Olympique), Wissam Ben Yedder (Monaco), Víctor Osimhen (Lille), Alassane Pléa (Borussia Mönchengladbach) and Raúl Jiménez (Wolverhampton Wanderers).

Once the players to be acquired are identified, our TCT-Scout tool makes a performance analysis of those players placing them in Manchester United for the 2020/2021 season with statistics calculated based on 90 minutes of play in the Premier League.

Thus, in the offensive area, Osimhen is the one who would score more goals, while Raul Jimenez would shoot more. On the other hand, Pléa would be the player with the best records in assists and crosses.

Regarding the pass, Raúl Jiménez would outstand in lay off passes  and, on the other hand, Dembelé would prevail in verticality. However, Pléa would also be the player with the most takes on won but Raúl Jiménez would be slightly more effective.

Defensively, the current Borussia Mönchengladbach forward would be the player with more tackles, but the Mexican of the Wolves would be more efficient. In blocked passes, Pléa would also be on top, although he would also be the player most often dribbled.

In addition, Ben Yedder would make more ball recoveries, Osimhen more clearances and Raul Jimenez more interceptions.

In the aerial aspect, Osimhen would distinguish himself for having the highest number of aerials won, and he would be also the most effective together with Raúl Jiménez.

Concerning the associative capacity, Ben Yedder would be the player with the best performance in passing ability, leading total passes, and passing ratio.

Pléa would be the most outstanding player in build up play, a variable created by Olocip from the artificial intelligence model considering the player’s participation in the creation of any play that ends in a shot. Raúl Jiménez would prevail over the rest in switches of play.

Finally, Osimhen would be the most reliable player with the ball and with the lowest loss of possession ratios if he plays for Manchester United in the 2020/2021 season.
